Some patients may have a shorter or deficient columella. In these patients, supporting the columella and elongating the septum creates a higher but proportional nose.
Nasal Ala: Thick-skinned patients often have wide alae, accompanied by wide nostrils. A narrower bridge and tip are achieved by narrowing the alae of the nose and nostrils with incisions made in correlation with the inclination of the alae.
